Cross Country Wellness was built on a simple belief: everyone deserves access to high-quality CBD at a fair price, from people they can trust.

We are not a corporation. We are not backed by venture capital. We are three people who have spent decades in the cannabis and hemp industry—as growers, advocates, and survivors—who decided to build something better.

J Bird is the face of Cross Country Wellness. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, he witnessed the opioid crisis firsthand: his father was in a car accident in 2015 and lost his life to an opioid overdose six months later.

He took a devastating situation and turned it into a mission. J Bird dedicated himself to educating communities on the benefits of hemp and CBD as a natural alternative, and he was named Las Vegas Cannabis Activist of the Year in both 2020 and 2021 for the work.

Today he handles everything from product sourcing to customer relationships to content. If you email Cross Country Wellness, there’s a good chance J Bird is the one who responds.

Jim Bergan

Jim is the elder statesman of the Cross Country Wellness team. He entered the legal cannabis and hemp industry in 2014, working at one of the largest fully integrated cannabis companies in Nevada.

He took that experience to Northern California’s Emerald Triangle—one of the most respected cannabis-growing regions in the world—where he operated and managed a large-scale outdoor cultivation. He now resides in Las Vegas, where he partnered with J Bird to form Cross Country Wellness.

Born in Arlington, Virginia, Jim graduated from the Catholic University of America in 1989 and was a PGA golf professional from 1992 until 2003. He’s been a cannabis and hemp advocate since 1984.

CBD as a recovery partner after a near-fatal motorcycle accident

Zack’s story is why Cross Country Wellness exists. Years ago he was in a motorcycle wreck that doctors said he would never fully recover from—they didn’t think he’d survive.

He did survive. And like millions of Americans, he had to choose between opioids and an alternative. He chose CBD—and he credits it with getting his life back without going down the opioid road that has taken so many.

That firsthand experience is what he brings to the company every day. When he talks about what CBD can do, he’s not reading a script.

Every batch of every product comes with a Certificate of Analysis from an independent, third-party lab. We test for CBD content, THC levels, pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, and microbial contaminants. We publish these results because you deserve to know exactly what you are putting in your body.

We keep our prices competitive because we believe cost should not be a barrier to wellness. We work directly with US-based hemp farmers and extraction partners in Nevada to keep our supply chain short and our costs low. Those savings go to you.

All Cross Country Wellness products are full-spectrum hemp-derived CBD, containing 0.3% or less THC in compliance with the 2018 Farm Bill. You get the full entourage effect of hemp cannabinoids, verified on every batch.

We do not make miracle claims. We do not use scare tactics. We believe in educating people so they can make informed decisions about their health. That is why we publish our lab results, explain our ingredients, and answer every question honestly.
